Reform in the catholic church.
THE HIDDEN REFORMS IN THE BIBLE THEY NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT
Catholics Online Class
You thought reform was a modern idea? Wait till you see what God did…
💥CHAPTER 1: GOD NEVER FEARS REFORM, WE DO
If you think “reform” is rebellion, you haven’t read your Bible well.
From Genesis to Revelation, the history of God’s people is a story of continuous reformation — not against God, but back to Him. Reform was never a human idea. It was God’s cry, again and again:
"Return to me with all your heart" (Joel 2:12).
Let’s take a journey through divine reformations that shook nations, purified worship, and saved souls.
You’ll never see the Bible the same way again.
💥CHAPTER 2: WHEN GOD REFORMED A NATION, UNDER SAMUEL
Before kings, there were judges. And in the time of Eli the priest, the people had fallen into deep moral and spiritual decay. His sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were priests, yet they abused their office and defiled the sacrifices.
So what did God do?
He raised a child, Samuel to lead the greatest reform of his time.
📖 “And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest… who shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind.” (1 Samuel 2:35)
The corruption of Eli’s sons didn’t stop God.
He reformed the priesthood from within.
He raised a boy to purify what grown men had polluted.
💥CHAPTER 3: WHEN DAVID BROUGHT BACK THE ARK — WITH DANCING
The Ark of the Covenant, God's throne on earth, had been neglected for decades. Worship had become routine. The sacred was hidden away.
David changed that.
He led a radical liturgical reform.
He brought back the Ark, not with silence, but with shouts, trumpets, and dancing.
📖 “David danced before the LORD with all his might.” (2 Samuel 6:14)
People mocked him, even his wife.
But David knew: Worship is not performance. It’s presence.
The Ark returned. Joy was restored. A national reform began with praise.
💥CHAPTER 4: WHEN HEZEKIAH DESTROYED THE BRONZE SERPENT
Wait, isn’t that the same bronze serpent Moses made in the desert? (Numbers 21:9)
Yes.
But centuries later, people began to worship it.
So King Hezekiah, a true reformer, did the unthinkable:
📖 “He broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made… for the people of Israel had made offerings to it.” (2 Kings 18:4)
He destroyed a sacred object to restore sacred worship.
True reform doesn’t idolize tradition. It returns to truth.
💥CHAPTER 5: THE REFORM UNDER KING JOSIAH, A TEENAGER!
The Temple was in ruins. The Law was forgotten. Idol worship filled the land.
Then one day, someone found a scroll hidden in the Temple.
It was the Book of the Law. The forgotten Word of God.
And King Josiah, just 26 years old, wept.
📖 “When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes.” (2 Kings 22:11)
He didn’t delay. He didn’t politicize. He didn’t set up a committee.
He reformed the nation on his knees.
🔥He destroyed idols.
🔥He cleansed the Temple.
🔥He made the people renew the covenant.
📖 “Before him there was no king like him… who turned to the LORD with all his heart.” (2 Kings 23:25)
One scroll. One heart. One reform.
💥CHAPTER 6: WHEN EZRA AND NEHEMIAH REBUILT NOT JUST WALLS, BUT WORSHIP
After exile in Babylon, Israel returned home — broken, humiliated, scattered.
But Nehemiah rebuilt the city walls.
Ezra, the priest and scribe, rebuilt the soul of the people.
📖 “Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people… and all the people stood up.” (Nehemiah 8:5)
Then something happened:
📖 “They read from the book of the Law of God, clearly… and the people wept.” (Nehemiah 8:8–9)
This was reform through the Word.
The people didn’t need new doctrines.
They needed to remember what God had already said.
And when they remembered, they wept.
When they wept, they changed.
When they changed — revival came.
💥CHAPTER 7: JESUS — THE REFORMER THEY COULDN’T TAME
You thought Jesus came to maintain tradition?
Read again.
📖 “You have heard it said… BUT I SAY TO YOU…” (Matthew 5:21–44)
He reformed hearts, worship, even the Sabbath.
📖 “New wine must be put into fresh wineskins.” (Luke 5:38)
He cleansed the Temple (John 2:13–17),
Ate with sinners,
Broke social norms,
Healed on the Sabbath,
And challenged the Pharisees, not because He hated the Law, but because they had buried its spirit under legalism.
Jesus was not a rebel.
He was the restorer of the Father’s will.
And when He left, He gave us the Holy Spirit, the ongoing fire of reform in the Church.
💥CHAPTER 8: REFORM IS NOT A CRIME, IT’S A CALLING
Reform didn’t start in Germany in 1517.
It started in Genesis.
Continued in Exodus.
Was revived by kings, prophets, priests — and fulfilled in Christ.
The Church doesn’t fear reform. She was born from it.
Every Saint was a reformer:
👉Francis of Assisi — who reformed through poverty.
👉Catherine of Siena — who spoke truth to Popes.
👉Ignatius of Loyola — who reformed education and discipline.
👉Therese of Lisieux — who reformed hearts with simplicity.
Reform is not rebellion.
It’s remembering.
Returning.
Realigning.
💥CHAPTER 9: THE FINAL WORD — GOD STILL REFORMS TODAY
Today, we cry out for reform, in most Seminaries, in the priesthood, in the Church, in our own hearts.
But let this truth echo through the ages:
📖 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you…” (Ezekiel 36:26)
God is not done reforming.
And the greatest reform?
It doesn’t begin in Rome. Or Lagos. Or Abuja.
It begins in you.
🫵 Reform begins when you tear down your idols,
🫵 When you return to the Word,
🫵 When you say YES again to the call of holiness, with freedom, not fear.
Let the world hear it loud and clear:
Reform is biblical.
Reform is spiritual.
Reform is God’s will.
Reform is now.
🙏God bless you.
