Signs and wonder

 Mathew 12:39 

Jesus said no sign and wonder for this wicked and adulterous generation only sign of prophet Jonah.

The sign of prophet Jonah is a prophetic reference by Jesus to his own death and resurrection, paralleling Jonah's three days in the fish with Jesus' three days in the earth. 

It serves as a sign of repentance for an evil generation, signifying Jesus' victory over death and his role as the promised Messiah. 

if there is no sign and wonder for this wicked and adulterous generation then where does all this miracle working prophets get the power they use to do sign and wonders and draw crowd to themselves instead of to Jesus.

I have told people that ability to do signs and wonder doesn't prove the presence of God which Jesus prophetically point at in Mathew 22:39 because all Jesus prophetically wants is our repentance and return to his father because we are the signs and wonders we seek in restoration.
