The bridge between new testament and old testament

bridge between new testament and old testament promise is the holy family of Joseph and Mary

While the Bible does not record a single, explicit "contractual" promise made directly to the Holy Family as a unit in the way covenants were made with Abraham or David, God made several profound promises to Mary and Joseph individually regarding the child they would raise.

Key Promises and Prophecies Related to the Holy Family:

To Mary (The Annunciation): The Angel Gabriel promised that she would conceive in her womb and bear a son, who would be called "the Son of the Most High" and whose kingdom would never end.

To Joseph (In Dreams): God promised protection and direction, directing him to take Mary as his wife, flee to Egypt to escape Herod, and later return to Israel.

Through Simeon (The Presentation): While not a promise to them directly, the prophecy of Simeon in the Temple regarding Jesus as the salvation of all people, and the warning that "a sword will pierce" Mary’s soul, served as a divine revelation of their future, which involved both joy and suffering.

The Implicit Promise of Providence: The entire narrative implies God’s promise of protection, guidance, and providence, as the Holy Family was entrusted with the care of the Savior, requiring them to live by faith and trust in God's plan.

The Holy Family is considered the fulfillment of the promises made to Abraham and David, acting as the bridge between the Old Testament covenants and the New Testament.
